What is a boot camp? SU (southern Utah) Fitness Bootcamp is a personal fitness training organized in a group setting.
How long is boot camp? regular sessions last 8 weeks, cardio blast sessions last 3 weeks
What is the personal fitness goal boot camp is meant to accomplish? To gain strength, stamina, cardio endurance & fitness, agility, self esteem, & (with a modified diet) get leaner & lose weight
How does the intensity of boot camp differ from another aerobic or excercise regimen? We'll work hard, sweat, and push our limits, but I cater to ALL fitness levels.That's the great thing about this bootcamp! So, the intensity level is custom to each person. For an example, on a generic scale of 1-10, 1-very easy, 10-very intense, Joe's very fit, he'll push himself hard (personal intensity 8 or 9). Most people would consider him at a 9 or 10. Mary is a mom, she hasn't exercised much, if ever. She'll push herself hard too (her personal intensity is an 8 or 9).Most people would consider her at a 4 or 5
Who is boot camp ideal for? Bootcamp is ideal for anyone wishing to feel more fit whether they need a jump start, continued fitness, fun exercise, motivation, whatever! most any age & fitness level works (check with your docor before attending). We even modify for injuries & bad kneed, ankles, etc
What types of exercises does your boot camp focus on? Sessions vary. Most of them include cardio fitness, strength with light free weights & body weight, plyometrics for power (we adjust if you can't jump), core work, cardio endurance. we record our workouts & rack our progress, so you can see what you've accomplished from start to finish.
What is your official title of your boot camp and as an instructor? I am the owner and personal trainer for SUFB
How long have you been doing this bootcamp? SUFB started in the summer about 5 years ago
Why did you decide that you wanted to hold a boot camp in Cedar City? I've taught at Gold's gym for almost 10 years. Didn't like the indoor "gym" environment for training & wanted to make it more fun & different, so I did a summer outdoor session. It was a hit & people wanted to do it again. They loved it so much, I added a winter session. Since then,it's grown even more! we've added shorter cardio sessions (with the main focus on cardio fitness), and do a spring and fall session.
How often do you have a boot camp? It depends on everyone's schedules, but I usually hold an 8 week session in the summer, fall, & winter, with smaller cardio sessions in between

Where is it at? during cold seasons we're indoor at the Cedar City Aquatic Center. In the summer, we're outdoors at various fun places. a schedule is given out the first day)
When is the next one? 8 week New Years Resolution Bootcamp is January 9th- March 2.
